Classic homemade criss cross peanut butter cookies

    Ingredients

    • ½ cup granulated sugar
    • ½ cup packed brown sugar
    • ½ cup HomePlate Peanut Butter (we used Crunchy!)
    • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 egg
    • 1 ½ cups flour
    • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ teaspoon baking powder
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • ½ cup additional granulated sugar

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 375°F.
    • Using a mixer, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and first ½ C granulated sugar.
    • Add HomePlate Peanut Butter and the egg and beat on medium speed until well combined.
    • Using a spoon or spatula, stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until dough forms.
    • Shape dough into 1-inch balls, then roll in the additional granulated sugar in a separate bowl.
    • Place dough balls about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet and use the palm of your hand to press the dough balls to flatten them just a bit. Then use a fork to create the criss cross pattern. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
    • Let cookies cool & enjoy!
